What happens to the old scar

A tummy tuck removes a horizontal strip of lower-abdominal skin — and a Caesarean scar almost always sits inside that strip, so it's excised with the excess. The new incision is placed lower than most C-section scars, under the bikini line, and is typically longer (hip to hip) because it has to remove far more skin than an obstetric incision ever did.
